# Configuration settings

This library defines no `appSettings` keys, connection strings, or custom SAIF configuration keys in its own `Web.config`/`app.config` (both are used at design-time/build for markup IntelliSense and assembly binding, not deployed standalone since this is a class library). The only configuration-like value referenced from code is the Oracle database/environment name, retrieved via the SAIF Environment API.

## Configuration retrieval methods

| Method | Class / Interface | Namespace | Usage pattern |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `GetConfigSetting(EnvironmentConfigKeys.OracleDatabase)` | `AppGlobal.EnvironmentService` | `SAIF.Framework.Security` | Called by `ClaimActivityPopup`, `ImageMovePopup`, and `TODOPopupControl` to resolve the Oracle database/environment name when constructing `clsMSOracleDataLayer` |

## Environment API settings

| Setting key | Method | Data type | Purpose | Consuming class | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `EnvironmentConfigKeys.OracleDatabase` | `GetConfigSetting` | string | Resolves the Oracle database/environment name used to construct a `DataPortalInfo` context for referenced business-layer calls | `ClaimActivityPopup`, `ImageMovePopup`, `TODOPopupControl` | `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.PopUps.Infragistics111\ClaimActivityPopup.vb`, `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.PopUps.Infragistics111\ImageMovePopup.vb`, `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.PopUps.Infragistics111\TODOPopupControl.vb` |

The actual setting value is sourced from the referenced `SAIF.BOF.Framework.Security.EnvironmentApi` package's environment service, not from a key defined in this library's own config files**.

## AppSettings (Web.config)

None. `<appSettings />` is empty in this library's `Web.config`.

## Database connection configuration

| Connection name | Provider | Retrieval method | Purpose | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.Client` | Oracle ODP.NET managed provider | `DbProviderFactories` registration | Registers the Oracle Managed Data Access provider consumed transitively through `clsMSOracleDataLayer`; no direct connection string is defined in this library | `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.PopUps.Infragistics111\Web.config`, `SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.PopUps.Infragistics111\app.config` |

## Secure settings

None found in this library's own source or config files.

## Configuration dependencies

| Dependency | Type | Required at | Impact if missing |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `SAIF.Framework.Security.AppGlobal.EnvironmentService` | Service (referenced package) | Runtime (when `ClaimActivityPopup`, `ImageMovePopup`, or `TODOPopupControl` construct a `clsMSOracleDataLayer`) | Oracle database/environment name cannot be resolved, blocking any code-table/claim/policy/employee lookup delegated to the referenced business packages* |
| `Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.Client` `DbProviderFactories` registration | Config section | Runtime (when the referenced business packages open an Oracle connection via `clsMSOracleDataLayer`) | Data-layer construction fails; no direct impact on this library's own rendering logic since it performs no SQL of its own* |

A hard-coded local file-system fallback path (`c:\netdev\components20\bin\SAIF.Presentation.Web.Controls.PopUps.dll`) appears in `mdlUtilities.GetResource()` for the `HttpContext.Current Is Nothing` (non-web, e.g., design-time) case — a legacy developer-machine path, not an actual runtime configuration setting*.
